All Coronavirus Aid To Chicago Needs To Stop Until Mayor Stops Executive Order Giving Aid To Illegals
Lori Lightfoot, the Mayor of Chicago, in defiance to the coronavirus bill passed, has issued an executive order ensuring that all illegal immigrants will also receive the cities coronavirus benefits.
This bill was passed into law explicitly denying any such aid to illegals, going around this law by decree should be grounds to stop all assistance until Chicago is ready to comply. Washington should go a step further until Chicago does, all stimulus checks to individuals, to businesses, should halt, the people are the ones that put this mayor into office, let them pressure her to change or remove her from office until they do, they should get nothing.
The city of Chicago has launched several programs to help residents cope with the financial challenges brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic. Such initiatives include a coronavirus Housing Assistance Grant Program, an online resources program for students through the city’s public schools, and a $100 million Chicago Small Business Resiliency Fund to help small businesses that are struggling.
Lightfoot’s order on Tuesday will allow illegal aliens to tap into all of these programs.
“This order is more than just an official decree, it is a statement of our values as a city and as Americans,” the Democratic mayor said during the press conference.
“Since COVID-19 first reached our city’s doorstep, we have been working around the clock to ensure all our residents are secure and supported, including our immigrant and refugee communities, who are among the most vulnerable to the impact of this pandemic,” Lightfoot continued.
At the end of March, Congress passed a 2.2 trillion relief bill that provides significant financial assistance to Americans that are under the weight of this assault; it includes a $1,200 payout to every citizen, which no illegal will get, also $350 billion in forgivable loans to small businesses.
But this has never been enough; Progressive politicians have criticized the bill for not providing any aid to illegal aliens, it seems they forgot the part that they are illegal. To counter this, Democrats passed a bill in Congress called Leave No Taxpayer Behind Act, a bill that calls for allowing illegals to obtain the same financial benefits. I must add, this has ZERO chance in the Senate or having the President sign it into law.
Chicago is not alone in this, California’s Governor has said he will do the same this last Friday, to that I say cut off all aid to the state, see how long the Governor holds to this standard.
We as Americans don’t like to see people get punished, but when you repeatedly vote for these politicians to stay in office, knowing what they are going to do, shouldn’t you stand by these politicians and join in the benefits as well as the pain? If they are going to defy the federal government, bills that were put together by our representatives, maybe we should tell these places they, nor their citizens will get anything until they get in line with the law.

Lightfoot, for her part, has long been a virulent critic of immigration enforcement and has established sanctuary policies that forbid cooperation between local law enforcement and Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) — which has led to notable stories of crimes by illegal aliens who evaded federal authorities.
The mayor on Tuesday cast her executive order has an inclusive measure for everyone living in the city.
“Here in Chicago, saying ‘we are all in this together’ means that during this crisis, no one gets left out and no one gets left behind,” she said.
We hear none stop that we need to cave in to the demands of these politicians and the people that put them in power, I say if they want to stand on this, let them do it, but now with our taxpayer’s money. When they wish to comply, then open it back up.
I would deal with this as I would my child. I have a 14-year-old, I give him an allowance, I tell him, you can buy these things, those things you may not. If he came and said, “Dad, I want my allowance, but I demand the right to spend on what you said I couldn’t!” I would pull back my money and tell him, “Then, Son, you may want to go get your money. It is my money, I decide how it is spent, if you are going to dictate to me how you will spend it, you will have nothing to spend at all.”
We need to get control of these cities and states that think they have the right to dictate, let them know they will be answerable, the people that vote them in, make them feel the heat, see there are reactions to their actions.
