Bombs Are Falling, Bombs Are Falling! Oops, Just Kidding

I heard this yesterday that a mailman pressed a wrong button on the emergency response board, all of Hawaii went into a panic for over 30 minutes with the news an ICBM was headed their way. All I can say is, “Are you Fu#*ing kidding me?” How does such a simple button sit there that can accidentally be pressed?

One would think that such a thing would be in a breakable glass, something with a big red button, labeled “break glass in times of emergency” (sirens would go off, ask if you really want to press it), instead we are told it is one of the buttons on the switchboard, who knows, maybe it is next to the planet killing asteroid button or maybe the black hole by the moon one.. You know, cleaning up the board, accidentally press up the button that sets the whole state in panic, people are crying and sending goodbyes to family, then “Did I press that? O0ps, my bad!”

Man, I am glad I don’t live in that state, I would be so angry. First, I am old, all my parts don’t work the way they should. If you make me run, and I would be, rushing my family downstairs, I have a wife in hospice, not sure how I would do that. Filling up bathtubs after scrubbing them out, washing machines as well, sinks, jugs of water. Rushing O2 tanks downstairs, then having to use some because at this point I would half dead, out of breath myself, would have to rush outside, try to throw something over the windows in the basement, and suddenly I get another message, “Oops, wrong button, my bad!”

I think at this point as tired as I am, I would grab a rope, call all my friends (in between the gulps of oxygen I would be fighting my wife over); we would first visit this idiot that pressed the button, then find who designed it in such a stupid way and gather him up for an old fashion lynching party.

“Oops, wrong button!” Man, I am so glad I don’t live there, just makes me angry thinking about it.
