Congress, Desperate To Impeach Are Now Claiming Extortion.
Yesterday the word of the day was extortion, it turns out the Russian Collusion Story was DOA when they called Mueller to testify as were the many other attempts to try to slander this president and impeach him. Now they see the claim of quid pro quo is not going to work. It is even worse to claim this when all you have is 2nd, 3rd, and 4th person information. This week we are off on the next thing the Democrats are casting about for and the flavor of the week is extortion.
What was more amazing, the Democrats seemed to actually embrace this idea that hearsay was better than actual first-hand knowledge. Rep. Mike Quigley, D-Ill., even appeared to embrace hearsay testimony, claiming that “hearsay can be much better evidence than direct” and that “countless people have been convicted on hearsay because the courts have routinely allowed and created, needed exceptions to hearsay.”
When I saw this on TV live yesterday, I had to stop and rewind the TV. I thought maybe I had heard this wrong, a Congressman who creates laws, saying that gossip is better than direct knowledge. I do know that he graduated from Loyola University Chicago School of Law with a Juris Doctor degree, so one has to wonder, did he forget everything he had learned in law school? Is this where the left is now?
In the usual fashion, we now see the press in lockstep with their masters in Congress, the word of the day was extortion, and I am sure they will have a new one for today. But watch the news, everyone is yelling extortion, this will do until the next flavor of the week pops up.
What is more interesting is you had Rep. Schiff trying in desperation to shut up questions he found went contrary to what the Democratic narrative is. Nothing was more revealing than when Rep. Jordan cross-examined Ambassador Taylor.
The claim from the two witnesses was not that they had heard Trump say anything, they had never spoken to him, but rather it was that somehow Trump withholding aid was aiding somehow Russia, thus weakening Ukraine in the process.
It was explained very well by Rep. Nunez as in his usual manner he exposed the whole story, then proceeded to lay the Democratic claims to waste. The claims that Trump weakened Ukraine is a lie. Unlike the last administration, he armed them, not sending them only blankets as claimed. He showed how the Democrats said that outside influence was inexcusable, yet they dismissed Ukrainian interference.
The Democrats claim that the Ukrainian interference was a hoax, but here was their star witness openly admitting he knew of it.
Ambassador Tayler’s bias was further exposed by showing that he had written op-eds against Trump when he was running for office and he was highly supportive of the Democrats and openly gave statements against Trump.
The response to the claim that Trump should have been forced to hand over millions of dollars of aid was beautifully exposed by Jessie Waters in his statement on the five:
What we have, as he said, is we have claims of a crime that never happened; so what are we investigating? Trump is not expected to hand over millions without making sure we can trust the money to be spent as we demand, after all, it is our money.
We were shown yesterday the real reason why the Democrats and the Deep State want Trump gone has nothing to do with collusion, it has nothing to do with extortion or that he broke a law; that is not the case. We have heard claim after claim against Trump be broken down and thrown away as chaff in the wind, it is blown away with the first light gust of questioning.
What Trump is guilty of in the eyes of the establishment is questioning the status quo that we have been part of for the last 70 years. His questioning looking at the Soviets as something evil is not in tune with the times, the Soviet empire died years ago, the inheritor of that empire, the Russian nation is a nation with a smaller GDP then Italy, has a defense budget not even 1/10 of ours, and yet they still want to act like they are the greatest threat facing us.
Trump dared to question this, as the one witness, Mr. Kent stated, he has worked for the State Department all his life, and in that time they had worked to thwart the Soviets, to resist them at all cost, and yet the Soviets are gone. While Putin and Russia are no angels, neither are we, there are far more serious threats to the US then Russia. This is something that Trump said, and it is something the deep state is finding unacceptable.
This is why the deep state is reacting. It has nothing to do with crimes or violations by Trump, but it has to do with something far worse in their eyes, the changing of the foreign policy of this nation.
This is why the deep state is reacting. It has nothing to do with crimes or violations by Trump; but it has to do with something far worse in their eyes, the changing of the foreign policy of this nation. To say that China is our worst threat and that Russia doesn’t even deserve to be in the top five is unacceptable. If they can’t bend Trump to their goals, the will of our unelected bureaucrats, then they must get rid of him and bring someone else in that will.
This is a move to save their jobs, to give their work meaning, and that is why they are so desperate to rid themselves of Trump. They are seething. How dare he say that Russia, the nation they have hated and fought against for all their professional careers, is now not their enemy.
Is this how the people within the government felt when the war with Japan and Germany ended? Is it going to have to take a war to bring these people into reality, a shooting conflict with China to see that this is where the real problem lies?
I hope not.
