Eight-Year-Old Second Grader, Suspended 38 Times over Not Wearing Mask, Tells School Board their Rules Suck, she Hopes They Go To Jail
A Florida second grader who has been suspended 38 times for refusing to wear a mask to school confronted her local school board — and asserted that they should be in jail.
Fiona Lashells, who just turned eight years old, told the Tampa Bay school board how she felt about their rules in no uncertain terms.
She is “on a mission to take back not only her rights but every American child’s constitutional rights from the tyrant school board,” her mother, Bailey Lashells, told The Free Press.

Fiona isn’t taking the suspensions lying down either; she has now spoken at her school board meetings twice — directly confronting those who are ruining her education.
Speaking at a school board meeting for the second time, the brave elementary school student said she believes masks are dirty and pointless.
Fiona asserted, “ok yeah, I hope you all go to jail for doing this to me,” to massive applause from the crowd. She added that her family is very proud of her and that the rules “suck.”
“I’m doing it for other kids and not just myself,” Fiona told Fox 8.
Fiona’s mother says that her daughter has been told she will fail the second grade, despite completing her assignments.
“Fiona is a strong-minded and fearless young girl who was ready to conquer the world at 7,” she told the newspaper. “Unfortunately, the blows just seem not to stop as she was recently told after completing every assignment her teacher will provide that she is not only failing 2nd grade but that there is no way she could catch up, per her teacher.”
Responses to this were somewhat predictable:
There was one poster saying how masks work, but I must ask, if all the masks have warnings that they don’t protect from airborne viruses, like COVID, why are we wearing them? Or are we acting like sheep, doing what we are told without questioning the reason?
We hear that science dictates actions, but where is the science on this? When you look at mortality rates from COVID with our youth, death from COVID is less than from Influenza, and we don’t mask up for that. Sadly, to appease political actors, our children are the ones who are suffering.
America made a mistake with COVID, and Trump was very much part of this. They shut down the whole country; most of the world did this. Instead, we should have quarantined the at-risk population (5%), not everyone. And before some of you say that I have no skin in the game, I lost my wife to COVID less than two months ago, but she was in the very high-risk group; the vaccine sure did not save her.
One needs to go to the CDC, look at the mortality rates among children vs. adults; you see why this is not for the children’s sake. It is more about control of them.
As with all things COVID, we do not advise on COVID, which should be asked of a medical professional, but we present facts and data to aid you in making informed choices. Our data is not dictated by political push; we look to science only.
