Govenor Gavin Newsom – Republican Party headed Towards Waste Bin Of History
California Gov. Gavin Newsom, a Democrat, said the Republican Party led by President Trump will have little to no long-term impact on the United States.
“America in 2019 in California in the 1990s,” Newsom told Politico. “The xenophobia, the nativism, the fear of ‘the other.’ Scapegoating and talking down or past people. The hysteria. And so, we’re not going to put up with that. We are going to push back.”
Trump and nationalist Republicans “are into the politics of what California was into in the 1990s … and they’ll go the same direction — into the waste bin of history, the way Republicans of the ’90s have gone. That’s exactly what will happen to this crop of national Republicans,” Newsom said.
Newsom said he believed California was a bellwether for the U.S., and that in a few decades the entire country would mirror the staunchly Democratic state.
I find this whole claim rather pathetic and even laughable, California which is facing its biggest drain of Middle-Class workers fleeing the state, rampant homelessness due to their failure of social structure, high housing prices, refusal to do anything about their homeless problems is far from the paradise it used to be.
One just needs to take a walk in San Francisco, LA, or Oakland, and you see the rampant homelessness, streets filled with tents, people urinating and defecating on the streets. Add to this mess the drug use, which California is so determined to enable, there are used syringes on the streets, drug addicts passed out on the sidewalks, you litterly have to stop over them, and now diseases not seen for years are starting rise up in these area’s.
What is more surprising is the far leftist tech sector that supports this liberal ideology, go to their headquarters, you find these homeless living right at their door, and this is seen as a success.
There is a host of other problems, one of the main reasons that the middle class is fleeing California is the price of housing is far outstripping the wages paid out, you simply can’t afford to purchase a home today as a blue-colored worker.
My mother used to tell me that some people know they are wrong, but rather th
Common sense will tell you when you have a problem of the magnitude of crises that California has, thinking you are doing a great job is either delusional or just outright stupid.
One would think the left would learn, they have pulled off a partial victory with the 2018 election, but rather then run with this victory, show the American people what they can do. They instead chose to try to make attempt after attempt to remove Trump, support illegals over their own constituents, or make pie in the sky moves, like trying to push the Green New Deal on the rest of America. Democrats, I can tell you what we learned from the 2018 election, ignore the will of the people at your own risk.

Newsom and others are seeing the polls, but ignoring the one bellwether that has determined American elections for the last 100 years, how our economy is doing. We the people don’t vote for our representatives to go off on a tangent some special interest group desires, more specifically, we do it to have our voices heard in the halls of power, if you are not going to do this, we can as easily vote you out as we voted you in.

Sadly I see this same sentiment with some of the old guard conservatives, seems they like many during the Reagan Era don’t want to see change, thus are fighting Trump with everything they can. You have actor and former politicians like Arnold Schwarzenegger that claims he sees the GOP dying, I beg to differ, it is changing, either you can get on the train Arnold, or the train will leave you at that station, it is not coming back around.
We have seen a cleaning of the old party members within the GOP, many are resisting where Trump is taking the party, more from further to the right to central right. Most people I know that are conservatives are economic conservatives, but socially moderate, yet this seems to be forgotten by many. We believe in the rule of law, following the constitution, and feel the government has become far too powerful of an entity, just the opposite of what you see with the left today.
This is a power of wills, one side wants to look at everything from our past as evil, to get rid of morals we were raised with, to run with the idea that if it feels good, then it must be good. We know that this is doomed for failure, we have seen it in far too many places happen, so as not to expect this, the question is, how many Americans think as I do? Hopefully, we will see that more are in tune with my way of thinking then the opposite.
