Kinzinger, JAN. 6 COMMITTEE MEMBER, Says They ‘Are Looking Into’ Any Trump Criminal Action
It looks like we are headed into another impeachment-type investigation, one we had to, unfortunately, sit through, where a possible criminal act was not the reason to assemble such a committee; instead, they were put together to dig for something, anything they could prosecute against Trump. There is a huge problem with this, not to mention that it is unconstitutional and illegal.

On Sunday, Rep. Adam Kinzinger (R-IL), one of the two ‘Never Trump’ Republicans on the House Select Committee investigating the Jan 6 incursion in the Capitol, revealed that the committee is investigating whether former President Donald Trump engaged in any criminal activity that day.
During an appearance on CNN’s ‘State of the Union,’ host Jake Tapper asked Kinzinger if the committee believed Trump committed any criminal offense on Jan 6.
Kinzinger replied, “Yes, we’re looking.”
It turns out that while they can’t show any criminal activity by Trump on that day, they are now expanding to look at all actions that day, even before it, to see if they find something they can point to as illegal.
Kinzinger said to Tapper, “I’m not ready to go there yet. But I sure tell you I have a lot of questions about what the President was up to.” He continued, “We want to know, though, and I think we will, by the end of our investigation and by the time our report is out, have a pretty good idea.”
“Nobody, Jake, is above the law. Nobody. Not the president — he’s not a king — not former presidents, they aren’t former kings. Nobody is above the law. And if the president knowingly allowed what happened on Jan. 6 to happen, and, in fact, was giddy about it, and that violates a criminal statute, he needs to be held accountable for that.”
First, there is no evidence that Trump was behind what happened on Jan 6; even the FBI and Justice Department have come out and said as much. Trump’s reaction to what happened that day is not a criminal matter, although listening to Kingzinger, you would think it was. Now, how wants to prosecute for feelings?
But things have not stopped at just looking into things; here you have Adam Schiff and his staff doctoring Trump tweets to try to make them into something they never said.
Committee Talking To Senior Trump Officials
The committee has focused on Trump’s former Chief of Staff, Mark Meadows. He was cooperating with the committee until they started demanding all his private phone records; at that point, he stopped stating his private phone conversations weren’t any of their business. Now they try to hold him in contempt for not yelling all private conversations with other people.
Last week, it was revealed that several Fox News hosts, including Sean Hannity, Laura Ingraham, Brian Kilmeade, and Donald Trump Jr., had sent Meadows text messages the day of the riot, telling Meadows to encourage the President to make a statement to quell the violence.
Kinzinger also said to Jake Tapper,
“I want to hold the people guilty accountable, but I want to make sure this never happens again. Otherwise, Jan. 6 will have been, yes, a failed trial run, but, sometimes, a failed trial run is the best practice to get one that succeeds, a coup that would succeed in toppling our government.”
The problem was both they and the Justice Department knew there was no attempted coup or insurrection, but that does not matter; the narrative is more important than the truth to the Left and the Rhinos. This was immediately called out:
This is correct; if there is no evidence this was an insurrection, why is this committee still functioning?
This committee has nothing to do with the insurrection; they are tasked with finding something, anything, even if they have to make it up, to ensure that Trump can never run for President again. What is pathetic, people like Kinzinger are willing to sell their souls to the Devil (Pelosi) to make sure this plan is carried forward.
