New Jersey Governor, “I was Not Thinking About The Bill of Rights!”

New Jersey Governor, “I was Not Thinking About The Bill of Rights!”

We have seen the draconian measures that governors are taking, stripping away civil liberties in the name of safety, saying that our first, second, or other amendments are not significant, they are superseded by what the governors see as a higher right. New Jersey is part of this nation, like it or not, your right to suspend fundamental liberties is not now, nor has ever been your right.

Last night while in a conversation with Tucker, when asked what about the Bill of Rights, our fundamental American freedoms, he said, “I was not thinking about the Bill of Rights when I put in the declaration forcing the shut down of my state.”

Well, Mr. Governor, it is not your right in New Jersey, nor anywhere else for that matter, no one, other than the president, with approval by Congressional oversight has a right to suspend Habeas Corpus. Yet, you seem to think this right rest on your shoulder’s; it doesn’t.

Our founding fathers, when they put in the Suspension Clause in our constitution, did so in such a way to protect Americans from having their rights suspended at the whim of politicians. In the constitution, it states the federal government, and only the federal government has the power to enact this clause. They have the burden of proof of showing why they would go to this extraordinary step. Yet, we are seeing governors usurping federal authority, saying they have this right unto themselves. The fact is they don’t.

We are born with freedom in our blood, we will pull back for the good of the nation for a short while, but you start trying to push this down the throat of Americans for long periods, they will respond, and not in a positive way.

We are meant to be free, our fathers, their fathers, our forefathers fought for this right going back to when we wet the soil of this great nation with the blood of patriots to free ourselves from British tyranny.

We are starting to see push-back, yesterday citizens in Michigan got in their cars, circled the capital and started to blare their horns, demanding their governor stop thinking she has the legal authority to strip civil rights, in other states people are protesting stripping the right to worship. This has extended even when the people are staying in their cars, leaving their windows closed.

There is going to be national rage starting over this soon if the reasons are not founded in logic if citizens are not given the freedom to do what is right. We are not a people to be held under the boot of tyranny, even if the intent is well-meaning, tyranny is something we will NEVER abide.

There is going to be hell to pay come this fall, we will not forget how politicians in a move to show they were with power, decided to use it to strip us of our rights, such politicians have no place in the halls of power, or for that matter, in any position in our lives, they need to be done away with and forgotten.
