Salvation Army Wants White Donors to Offer “Sincere Apology” for Their Racism
The Salvation Army is asking for more than donations this year.
The Christian charitable organization is asking all white donors to reflect on their racism this year.
Central Nova News reported:
The Salvation Army wants its white donors to give it more than just money this Christmas season. Its leadership is also demanding they apologize for being racist.
Its part of a push by the Christian charitable organization to embrace the ideas of Black Lives Matter, an activist group working to, among other things, “dismantle white privilege” and “disrupt the Western-prescribed nuclear family structure.”
The Salvation Army’s Alexandria-based leadership has created an “International Social Justice Commission” which has developed and released a “resource” to educate its white donors, volunteers and employees called Let’s Talk about Racism. It asserts Christianity is institutionally racist, calling for white Christians to repent and offer “a sincere apology” to blacks for being “antagonistic.. to black people or the culture, values and interests of the black community.”
“Many have come to believe that we live in a post-racial society, but racism is very real for our brothers and sisters who are refused jobs and housing, denied basic rights and brutalized and oppressed simply because of the color of their skin,” one lesson explains. “There is an urgent need for Christians to evaluate racist attitudes and practices in light of our faith, and to live faithfully in today’s world.”
It looks like Salvation Army is going full woke.
One has to wonder, while the idea of being “woke” is pushed by the Media, the majority of Americans does not support it, and as “woke” policies are gone further on the population, the support for this is falling away, so why would such an entity as Salvation Army, who has a rich history of giving to the poor and needy want to tie itself to this nonsense?
I have always given to them; remember when I was younger and in need, after we found out my wife was pregnant, three months into the pregnancy, I had an accident, broke my back. After planned parenthood suggested we abort the baby (that is a whole different story), the Salvation Army helped out when others would not, so I have always returned the help they have given to me.
But, if they are going to support something like this, there is no way I can justify giving them anything.
Apologizing for being white, the racism of this is amazing. Can you imagine if I or anyone else asked someone to apologize for being black, brown, or Asian? The outrage would rightfully explode, but you demand this of whites; that is acceptable.
As long as they stand by something like this, I would rather give my money to the man on the street corner looking for a job instead of giving it to a group that supports this type of racism.
