the Loss OF Two Senate Seats In Georgia, And Now Loss Of Majority In Senate Rest on One Man, Mitch McConnell
Democrats appear on the brink of taking control of the U.S. Senate with Raphael Warnock, the projected winner over Republican Sen. Kelly Loeffler, and Democrat Jon Ossoff leading Republican Sen. David Perdue in Georgia’s two Senate runoff elections.
Around 2 a.m. ET Wednesday, the Associated Press projected Warnock the winner over Loeffler after the Atlanta pastor built his statewide lead to more than 46,500 votes.
Warnock made history with his election win, becoming the first Black Democrat elected as a U.S. senator from a state in the South and only the 11th Black senator in the nation’s history. He becomes the first Democrat to win a U.S. Senate race in Georgia in 20 years.
Yet much of this would not have happened; we already saw the election earlier where the Republican Senate picks did lead in the elections. Then McConnell decided it was time to shut down all talk of a $2,000 stimulus when millions of Americans are hurting, out of jobs. None of this mattered. While he and the Democrats threw billions away with foreign aid, they acted like giving $600 was a prize that Americans should be overjoyed about.
What this did show was the Republicans were out of touch. It did not matter that these two Republican candidates said they supported Trump’s call for raising the amount from $600 to $2,000; they only care about what they see in results, a check-in their hand, something McConnel refused them.
What is more, after lecturing all of us on how the Democrats were trying to push their special agenda items in the bill they were trying to pass months ago, he signs off on a bill that is funding gender studies on statues, transgendered studies in Pakistan, and a host of other wasteful pork.
So what did he do when he finally agreed to look at a $2,000 stimulus? Packed that bill with special interest points for the Republicans, knowing there was no way the Democrats would agree to this part of the bill. In other words, he made a gesture knowing it would fail but did so to keep up appearances.
I have said for years that if the Democrats did not have double standards they would have no standards at all, at this point I think we need to throw McConnell into this classification.
We have heard that he did not wish to pass this due to a mounting debt crisis, but we must ask, what does he think will happen with the Democrats controlling both houses? They will put us massively in debt, fund giving stimulus checks to illegals, maybe change the way elections are done for good so the GOP can never take control of the White House or hold a majority in either house again.
