The Real Story Not Told About the Las Vegas Shooting

An opinion piece by Tim Benton

I was watching the news yesterday, going over all the news feeds about the Las Vegas shooting, found in a hurry that there was nothing said about the political leanings of the shooter, as a rule, that sends red flags up. We all know if he was a Trump supporter or a GOP member, it would have been splashed all over the news, that stirred me on to start digging. At this point with all the fake news out, it is hard to separate what is fact or fiction.

This is what we know up to this point, the shooter, Stephen Craig Paddock, worked in the real estate business, his sibling said he was a millionaire who made his money from property. Contrary to the accusations you hear from many that he purchased automatic weapons, we see nothing providing proof of this, although we have found he did modify some semi-automatic weapons with a device called a “bump-stock”.

The device basically replaces the gun’s shoulder rest, with a “support step” that covers the trigger opening. By holding the pistol grip with one hand and pushing forward on the barrel with the other, the shooter’s finger comes in contact with the trigger. The recoil causes the gun to buck back and forth, “bumping” the trigger, thus the weapons were not automatic, they were semi-automatic weapons that created a way to pull the trigger much faster due to recoil.

The first reports heard, that this was an attack with an automatic weapon has turned out to be false. Naturally, right away we had Hillary tweeting over a bill in Congress, right away we had democratic lawmakers standing in front of a podium yelling how we needed to ban all ownership of these weapons now, of course, this has all turned out to be more political than based on facts.

The other problem you have is with the modifications, it is obvious the shooter had every intent on doing what he did, it is obvious this was planned out.

You just don’t walk into a hotel over three days, bring in massive amounts of ammunition and guns, place them around the room, maid service would have seen and reported this, so he would have had to figure out first a way to break down the weapons, bring them in, over a couple of days assemble them, and this would have all been done after casing out the room he was renting to make sure he had the best line of sight on the concert goers.

You also don’t purchase a modification for your weapon intended to turn it into an “Automatic type” of firing speed, basically, each shot causes the trigger to be pulled again, thus you have an automatic type modification, but it was never a true automatic weapon.

The other thing that brings puzzlement is the total lack of inquiry by the major networks into the political beliefs or affiliation of the shooter. We both know if he was a Trump supporter or a conservative opposed to Trump, it would have been posted all over the news, but like the shooting that happened in Washington DC the press is mysteriously silent on this, it brings me to the conclusion that he then most likely had ties to the liberals. They don’t want this to get out, a liberal trying to create mass carnage. I could be wrong on this, but if I were a betting man, I would most certainly find this a good bet to make.

If this turns out to be as I believe, and I may be wrong, then I blame the press first for stirring up such emotions that now we have psychopaths like this idiot who thinks it is fine to target a group of people for their political affiliations. What is worse, we have an attorney for the news network CBS that in her twitter feed said she felt no sympathy for the victims, they were most likely all Trump supporters, thankfully they let her go.

The networks in typical hypocritical fashion, the same ones that stood by President Obama when he refused to name the Ft. Hood shooter a terrorist along with other attacks as anything other then workplace violence then turned on Trump and started to yell for him to classify this as a terrorist attack without all the evidence in (I do want to clarify, it is not that I don’t support this being called a terrorist attack, it was, but the news that so strongly supported Obama for not doing it now is demanding with the same energy for Trump to do this).

But there is more, with the press for months, some even still are doing this now, giving radical leftist groups like Black Lives Matter free press while excusing away their calls for cops to be killed, then when there is a cop killing in Dallas by a follower who said he was motivated by Black Lives Matter message, they right away then try to dismiss this as a right-wing conspiracy.  What is worse, you have talk show host, like Whoopi Goldberg saying she feels that the whole claims of violence with groups like Antifa are a conspiracy made up by the right

What is more startling, she then goes on to say she never saw violence until Trump got in, one has to ask, did she miss out on watching all the news, the attacks on Trump supporters for daring to go in and listen to him at his rally’s? Or what about the Black Panthers who were outside a polling booth intimidating voters who were going in to do their civic duties? What we have seen is a steady uptick on the language of threats of violence after Trump was elected, but it was going on from the left long before he came along, one just needs to look to Reverend Wright and Ayers, one Obama left after outrage the other was part of his team while running for office.

We need to fix what is wrong with this country, much of that problem is the press, the Hollywood elite that thinks they have a clue what we the people are dealing with while they sit in judgement from their ivory towers, this is not a problem with guns, this is a problem with the press trying to push a narrative that does not exist.
