‘This isn’t remotely journalism’: Richard Grenell calls out CNN reporter for ‘asking’ Mitch McConnell about filibuster’s racist roots
This March, President Joe Biden said he agreed with his old boss, Barack Obama, that the filibuster was a relic of Jim Crow — even though Obama made a passionate defense of the filibuster when he was a senator. Democrats suddenly recognized the need to abolish the filibuster, even though they’d used it 327 times in 2020 alone, while Republicans used it only once.
CNN national politics reporter Eva McKend wants to be the next Yamiche Alcindor, in the sense that she’ll advocate for a position while making it sound like a question. Here she is lecturing Mitch McConnell on the racist roots of the filibuster back in March, though the tweet is still pinned to the top of her Twitter feed:
We’re not sure how Richard Grenell stumbled across it this week, but he certainly wasn’t impressed with the reporting:
Because she’s a Democratic activist.
It’s almost as if the reporter were advocating for the nuking of the filibuster and suggesting you were racist if you wanted to keep it.

I think the problem people have is that news organizations, like CNN, come across as impartial journalist sites, yet when you watch them, it is apparent that they are anything but. I have no problem if a site identifies as a conservative or liberal site; we do that, our news is reported with a conservative viewpoint, we have never hidden that, but if we are reporting on an article, and it is just news, then our political slant should be left out, none of this happens with CNN.
When news sites masquerade as professional journalist sites, yet they openly act in a way that is shown as an activist for a particular political party, they are no longer unbiased Journalists. Instead, they are activists working for a political goal.
With CNN, MSNBC, New York Times, along with most of the other liberal slanted news, they sold out their credibility to rid our nation of Trump. They did not care how badly they damaged their reputation; the ends justified any means.
This is why CNN is in free fall, MSNBC, ABC, CBS, NBC, and their online sites are all free fall. Meanwhile, FOX is weathering on, but as they have turned more towards the left, they are also experiencing this. The thing of interest is FOX is doing well with their slots of people who don’t pretend to be journalists; they openly admit to being political commentators, such as Tucker and Hannity. Ratings show FOX as almost doubling their next nearest competitor, MSNBC, and nearly three times the audience of CNN.
These news sites know they are in trouble, CNN has been bought out, there is restructuring in the air, or they will quickly go to the wayside. MSNBC is not doing much better, nor are the other news sites. All of this is because their sacrifice of trustworthy news caught up with them once Trump was gone.
The organizations masquerading as news are not interested in keeping us informed; it is far more interested in controlling the information, so we are led like sheep, never knowledgeable about the facts. In the end, they don’t think the average American is smart enough to process the news, so they give it to you in small bites seasoned with propaganda and political slant.
