With Gas Prices Rising To Record Levels, Inflation Surging, Congress Gives 21% Pay Raise To Their Employees
Congress seems to think that they, along with Biden, have done such a smashing job running America that they have decided to include a 21% pay raise for their performance in the omnibus bill.
One has to wonder, was it the rapidly climbing price of fuel that shows their success, or maybe inflation that is daring to run out of control?
The legislation would grant $774.4 million for the Members Representational Allowance, which funds the House budgets for lawmakers, including staffer salaries and $1.7 billion for House operations.
“This $134.4 million, or 21 percent, boost over the previous fiscal year marks the largest increase in the MRA appropriation since it was authorized in 1996, according to a bill summary by the House Appropriations Committee,” Roll Call reports.
The bill does not technically provide a raise for members of Congress, who earn an annual salary of $174,000. But House staffers, who members use to run errands, and family members of Congressional lawmakers who are often put on the payroll, will see a pay increase.
They then used January 6 as an excuse to give a raise to the corrupt DC capital police. The same police set off the January 6 riots by firing tear gas into crowds that were peacefully assembling at that time.
Please do not misunderstand; I am not saying the force is corrupt, but the leadership is, and the ones willing to fire on people peacefully assembling, then shooting and killing unarmed protestors are.
As Gateway Pundit stated:
“This bill is essential to keeping our democracy and the legislative branch of government functioning in a safe and accessible manner,” Sen. Jack Reed, D-R.I., chair of the Legislative Branch Appropriations Subcommittee, said in a statement. “At a time when the U.S. Capitol and the Capitol Police continue to operate amidst immense challenges, this agreement ensures they have the resources and staffing to protect the Capitol complex.”
The 2,741-page omnibus spending package is also loaded with pork, funding pet projects for lawmakers. Sens.
A list of all the earmarks attached to the bill spans 367 pages.
Massachusetts Sens. Elizabeth Warren and Ed Markey secured $995,000 for “Grid Resilience and Equity in the Energy Transition” research at the University of Massachusetts, allowing the left to redistribute taxpayer dollars to fix alleged inequality in the energy system, the Heritage Foundation reports. Markey and Warren also a $500,000 earmark for Worcester State University to increase diversity and inclusion for STEM students to study climate change. Rhode Island Sens. Sheldon Whitehouse and Jack Reed secured $1.6 million of federal taxpayer funding for Roger Williams University for the “development of equitable growth of shellfish aquaculture in Rhode Island.”
The massive spending bill is heading to Joe Biden’s desk after the Senate cleared it late Thursday on a 68-31 vote.
We are faced with record deficits; the Left still runs around and acts like my ex. If you have checks, you must have money to cover them; why bother to check the balance? Then when the police come to visit, as ‘We the People’ will one day, they blame everyone else for why they are in trouble.
The worst part is that the GOP, who acts as if they know better, is being led into this without hardly one word of protest. There are times I look at what they are doing; I have to ask myself, “How are they any different than the other side?”
We aren’t given good choices; we choose between two bad choices. The question is, “They both smell bad. What stench can I put up with the longest?”
After hearing all during Trump’s turn how the GOP did not care what the commoner thinks, we find out that the Democrats don’t care either, but they go further; they look at the common person with disdain.
What is worse, after we vote them in, they don’t care that they are saddling our children with unpayable debt; they know they have milked tens of millions from the system, will pass their wealth to their children, who will not have to worry about such things.
If I did not know better, I would think I was caught in a mad world, one created by a writer of demented ideas, a horror film that will cause all to fear. Sorry folks, this is real life.
Notes from the Editor
I want to thank all of you for your good wishes and prayers. With the death of my wife less than five months ago, then a house fire just two days ago things have gotten overwhelming.
In the end, all that matters is no one was hurt, we are out of our home for a while, but that too can be replaced, but the people never can be.
